This hillside escape blends wood and concrete, sand and stone, to create a uniquely balanced courtyard escape. Playing to the strength of the natural slope this environment makes you feel completely at peace while living fully on the edge.

This project makes use of the following design options:

• Zen Style

  • Tranquil and Symmetrical: Focuses on harmony and balance, often using rectangular or symmetrical shapes.

  • Natural Materials: Bamboo, stone, and wood are common materials.

  • Water Features: Often includes still water or gentle fountains to create a peaceful atmosphere.

  • Minimalist Landscaping: Simple, elegant landscaping with elements like Japanese maples, bamboo, and rocks.

• Rectangular Shape

  • Description: A classic and versatile shape, ideal for lap swimming and a clean, modern look.

  • Uses: Great for both recreational use and exercise. Works well in traditional and contemporary designs.

• Baja Shelf (Tanning Ledge)

  • Description: A shallow area, usually 5-12 inches deep, designed for lounging and tanning.

  • Uses: Provides a relaxing space to enjoy the water without fully submerging. Great for young children and pets as well.
